Dark sky filled with light, deep shadows on bright edged trees, strong foreground lines running away and disappearing into the woods, reflections on the window giving a sense of the viewer up close, a scene emotionally laden for those of us who live here and travel this road often. Though the sky is only about a quarter of the space, top to bottom, that powerful light source off-screen makes the sun in the sky the dominant feature of the print. That’s great. A picture of what you can’t even see!
