I stumbled off the track to success in 1968, started chasing shadows that summer. Since then, In addition to farm-laborer and newspaper photographer my occupational incarnations include dishwasher, janitor, retail photo clerk, plumber, HVAC repairman, auto mechanic, CAT scan technologist, computer worker and politico (whatever it takes to buy a camera.) I am on the road to understanding black and white photography.

  1. Discomfort guides my tongue, and bids me speak of nothing but despair. One day too late, I fear me, noble lord, hath clouded all thy happy days on earth.
O, call back yesterday, bid time return, and thou shalt have twelve thousand fighting men.
To-day, today, unhappy day, too late.-William Shakespeare, Richard II

  2. I just found this in a search this morning when I got to the shop to open up, Gray and my wife Ernestine had a similar cancer trajectory. Ernestine pretty much continue to live her life the way Gray did until there just wasn;t anymore time left to live. I loved her very much but I really admired her spirit and the way she faced the shortening of her days. I feel the same way about Gray and so wish she was still with us just living her life with such grace and sweetness. Much love to you: I am so grateful for having met you.
