I first saw a child on a leash June 1976, 3128 West Cary Street, Richmond, Virginia. A father and son at Old Dominion Camera, the Saturday morning rush hour when all the Medical doctors from Windsor Farms would come in to buy more Leica equipment.
This Doc had a kid on a leash, told him to “sit” while he, the father, spoke with sales manager Bill Fisher.
The child sat silently, patiently.
