I stumbled off the track to success in 1968, started chasing shadows that summer. Since then, In addition to farm-laborer and newspaper photographer my occupational incarnations include dishwasher, janitor, retail photo clerk, plumber, HVAC repairman, auto mechanic, CAT scan technologist, computer worker and politico (whatever it takes to buy a camera.) I am on the road to understanding black and white photography.

  1. Those were great times to be shooting…I put down my camera as a 13 year old kid in ’71 and spent all my time finding new ways to get wasted.
When I finally bought an AE-1 in 1984, some of the best parts of New York were long gone…I’m glad I didn’t wait longer, but all my memories
of the ’70s would have made for some great pictures. It’s so hard to realize stuff like this when you’re young and of course chemically altered.

That said, I think that I regret not buying a Stratocaster even more. I have a feeling that I would have made some very good noise with one…
