Eminent Domain

3 dogs — I asked Council to seize 21 acres in the floodplain of the Rivanna River, to provide the current owner of the property with just compensation, and create another river park. In the alternative there will be a 15 foot flood wall that blocks access from neighborhoods to the river, a 2 acre parking lot and 245 apartment units.

love this quote — I didn’t know F.T. and Mariflo Heblich. They sound like wonderful people. Someone put a bench next to the Rivanna in their memory. Beautiful.

Rivanna River heron — The Rivanna River is a premier resource for Central Virginia.

People in Charlottesville are making use of the Rivanna. The Charlottesville political leadership continues to ignore the river. I hope the City Council will engage, in a helpful manner, soon.

Some “studying” has been done but significant steps have not been taken.

Bike Ped Bridge survey

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission is working to submit a bike-ped bridge proposal to VDOT later this year. The TJPDC is considering two potential bridge locations. One bridge would land at the end of Chesapeake Street, one would land at the end of Market Street.

They are interested in public input, so please consider taking the survey
