I stumbled off the track to success in 1968, started chasing shadows that summer. Since then, In addition to farm-laborer and newspaper photographer my occupational incarnations include dishwasher, janitor, retail photo clerk, plumber, HVAC repairman, auto mechanic, CAT scan technologist, computer worker and politico (whatever it takes to buy a camera.) I am on the road to understanding black and white photography.

  1. Familiar to me and the NY tourists driving to New England. Scary and slow. If there were trees, I couldn’t see all the billboards for accident lawyers.

  2. The Rhode Island Film Collaborative will be holding its annual Black & White Party Saturday, December 8, at Hope Artiste Village — this year with a “Magical Fantasy” theme. You are encouraged to wear black and/or white in any style of dress. Or come as your favorite magical character. Or come just as you are.
