Route 250

To date, local authorities have been more comfortable building highways through public parks (land banks) than through private property.

I stumbled off the track to success in 1968, started chasing shadows that summer. Since then, In addition to farm-laborer and newspaper photographer my occupational incarnations include dishwasher, janitor, retail photo clerk, plumber, HVAC repairman, auto mechanic, CAT scan technologist, computer worker and politico (whatever it takes to buy a camera.) I am on the road to understanding black and white photography.

  1. Cool pic! Dark sky filled with light, deep shadows on bright edged trees, strong foreground lines running away and disappearing into the woods, reflections on the window giving a sense of the viewer up close, a scene emotionally laden for those of us who live here and travel this road often. Though the sky is only about a quarter of the space, top to bottom, that powerful light source off-screen makes the sun in the sky the dominant feature of the print. That’s great. A picture of what you can’t even see!
