A slightly different explanation suggests that this flexible catchphrase has to do with discarding the essential while retaining the superfluous because of excessive zeal. In other words, the idiom is applicable not only when it’s a matter of throwing out the baby with the bath water, but also when someone might throw out the baby and keep the bath water.–Wikipedia
The doll in the middle looks familiar. Sophia and April both would find these when walking.

Another darned fine photo.
Bill, I need to tell you much I enjoy your images and ruminations, which I try to visit once a week or so. I like all of it: the dog, the sisters, the Charlottesville bits, the mysterious trips to Providence (I’m never sure why you go), and certainly the moving images in the family category recently. The way you use your camera to share your life without the least touch of ego–that is a thing to be admired.
Thanks!
Another Bill — just a guy in San Francisco with too many cameras.
