I stumbled off the track to success in 1968, started chasing shadows that summer. Since then, In addition to farm-laborer and newspaper photographer my occupational incarnations include dishwasher, janitor, retail photo clerk, plumber, HVAC repairman, auto mechanic, CAT scan technologist, computer worker and politico (whatever it takes to buy a camera.) I am on the road to understanding black and white photography.

  1. Gah! How big are they? (Still not recovered from my basement grub infestation of a few years back…)

  2. That’s what we had all over the laundry room floor– Japanese beetle grubs. When there are a ton of them in one spot, they smell like a busted sewer pipe. Watch out though, they like to fight. The county extension agent told me they can bite AND pinch. Blech.
