downtown

I wish people who designed windows would sign them. Wish the same about our daily newspaper's editorials.

I stumbled off the track to success in 1968, started chasing shadows that summer. Since then, In addition to farm-laborer and newspaper photographer my occupational incarnations include dishwasher, janitor, retail photo clerk, plumber, HVAC repairman, auto mechanic, CAT scan technologist, computer worker and politico (whatever it takes to buy a camera.) I am on the road to understanding black and white photography.

  1. I’m fairly certain that the Daily Progress has the Chamber of Commerce writing their editorials.

  2. The Daily Regress’s owner is afterall a Republican. At least I assume so given that the paper openly supported Robert Hurt in the last election. Small town newspapers are a shoddy example of journalism and integrity with staff that will kill their mothers in the hope that they can someday find a story to ge them out of the shanties! I’ve met several people who used to work there. Who’ve told me they saw their careers slipping away. Bad reporting, poor writing and lazy stories suggested by the public. Local news is no bad thing, but nothing you can’t read on a notice board.
